Obituary of Milton Harvey
Milton Roy Harvey, 91, of Marquette and former Houghton resident passed away on July 1, 2017, at the Marquette General Hospital.
Milt was born on June 20, 1926 in Hancock, the son of Roy and Mildred (Bonds) Harvey, and attended the Hancock Public Schools before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War 11. He first worked at Abrams Cleaners in Hancock for ten years, before being employed for three years at the former Atlas Powder Company in Dollar Bay. In March of 1960, he started working at the /white Pine Copper Mine and retired from there after 20 ½ years. Afterwards he also drove the buses for the City of Houghton.
Milt enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years hunting and fishing. On August 7, 1947, he married Dorothy Letto of Hancock. After her death, he married Jeanne (Yeip) Tetzlaff of Houghton on July 3, 1975, staying in Houghton and operating the Holiday Motel for four years, before retiring to their home on Denton Road where they lived for 15 years before moving to the Tourville Apartments in Marquette in 1998.
Milt is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughter Victoria (Frank) Crnkovich of Calumet, step- daughters Karen Tetzlaff of Sacramento, California and Linda Harvey of Houghton., brother-in-law Howard Junkin of Boston Location, grandchildren Dorothy Crnkovich and Chris (Kim) Crnkovich of Calumet, sisters-in-law Marion Wienke of Granton, Wisconsin and Barbara Wright of Dayton. Ohio and two nieces and six nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife Dorothy, he was preceded in death by a son Gerald Harvey, sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Ravasz and Jean Junkin of Houghton, brothers-in-law John Ravasz, Fred Wienke, and Framk Wright and nephews James Wright, Richard Wright and John Wright.
A private family graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
