Karen L. Cavaleri, a resident of Hubbell, passed away at the Omega House in Houghton following a short illness.
She was born on March 15, 1950, in Detroit Lakes, MN. A daughter of Robert and Betty (Bakken) Haas. As a child, Karen was raised in Hawaii where she graduated from Radford High School in Hawaii. She then received an English degree from the University of Hawaii.
Karen was united in marriage to Mark Cavaleri and the couple had two sons together.
Ms. Cavaleri went back to college in St. Paul, MN, where she received her Nursing Degree from St. Catherine’s University. She then worked in the home health care industry for several years. Since 2013, she had made her home in Hubbell so she could reside close to her son and granddaughter.
In retirement Ms. Cavaleri had a passion for art and cross country skiing.
Preceding her in death was her father Robert Haas.

A public memorial service for Karen will be held 11am Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Houghton with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate .
